Our vision and mission
AMIC creates intercultural bridges that support migrant integration in Geneva.
AMIC creates intercultural bridges that support migrant integration in Geneva.
Our vision is to ensure that every refugee and asylum seeker in Geneva is informed about their rights and entitlements, and understands the culture and environment of the city. The hope is that with these tools, every refugee and asylum seeker will be well-placed to integrate and build a life in Geneva.
Our mission is to provide intercultural bridges that support migrant integration in Geneva. In particular, we want to improve migrant access to basic public services such as healthcare, education and vocational training. Our goal is to facilitate good communication and connection between all relevant parties; migrants, public institutions, non-governmental associations and engaged citizens.
We have created a set of values to bring together all of the association’s partners under a unified philosophy to support the mission.
Listening and Sharing
In order to meet the migrants’ needs, it is crucial to listen attentively and develop good communication and transparency.
Inclusion and Diversity
Be inclusive and respectful to individuals regardless of their place of origin, culture, political or religious beliefs, age, pregnancy and maternity, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Autonomy and Self-Confidence
Supporting and developing migrants’ self-confidence and initiative is key to helping them become independent and self-reliant members of society.
Solidarity
In recognition of the isolation that migrants and asylum seekers often face, we want to build a community of mutual support and attentiveness.
